"Before ComputerTraining.edu, I went to a four year college and earned my bachelor’s in teaching. While going to school for teaching I always enjoyed playing on the computer and learning new techniques. I would often find myself helping others who had problems with their own personal computers, and I would occasionally help friends build new computers. While attending college I had always wanted to gain the knowledge and certifications for Microsoft, but I had no idea where to begin or where to go. I decided to stay in college for teaching and I began teaching for an elementary school once I graduated college in 2007. Once I began teaching I found that I was happy in the field but not satisfied. I enjoyed teaching students but what I really enjoyed and wanted to pursue was a career in computers. I began looking at many different schools, but could not find a school that would allow me to continue working while going back to school, and then I finally found ComputerTraining.edu. I loved that ComputerTraining.edu offered their courses at night so I was able to continue working while I went back to school to pursue my career change.

After getting my first certification, ComputerTraining.edu helped me make the transition from teaching into the field of IT. ComputerTraining.edu gave me the hands on job experience for the real world. With that I was able to land a job utilizing many of the skills I learned in class. I also enjoy getting calls from friends and family who know that I earned my certifications through ComputerTraining.edu and now they want me to show them how to do computer related stuff and fix issues they may have not only for their personal computers but even for when they are at work. ComputerTraining.edu has taught me not only the technical skills but the interview skills that I will need as I continue to grow and reach my ultimate goal. I have not reached my ultimate goal yet, but I will get there. I was able to get on the right road though with the help I received from ComputerTraining.edu.

My biggest concerns before attending ComputerTraining.edu were whether or not I would be able to put the time aside to complete the program or would I even be able to pass the course. I knew I was capable of studying but I was not sure how I would be able to manage my time and find a good balance between work, school, studying, and social life. Thanks to my instructor at ComputerTraining.edu, I was able to learn how to manage my time and become successful in the course. She helped everyone by providing a structured time management sheet that we could use to plan out our weeks. Once my time management was in place my fear of passing the course started to subside as well since I could physically see how much time I was actually spending on studying for my exams. The instructors at ComputerTraining.edu also helped with my fears of not passing by being very supportive and always available even when we were not attending class to answer questions, redo or go over labs, and to review for our current exam. Because of their support and guidance my fears melted away and I became a successful student completing all my certifications by the end of the course.

I would tell new students not to get overwhelmed and to be sure to come to every class. At times some of the skills you are learning get confusing and you will get frustrated, but stick with it. Utilize your instructor, ask questions, go to reviews, and if you have time come in early, on Saturdays, or nights you do not have class to get extra help. Make sure to ask lots of questions and keep up on all the homework and studying. In the end the work you put into this course will pay off and you will see results.

Overall, this experience has greatly changed my life. I am now in a career path that I truly enjoy waking up every morning and going to work. The skills and training that I received from ComputerTraining.edu got me on the right path to success and they continue to help me even now that I am done with the course to continue my education and pursue even better achievements."

"I had always heard the advertisements for ComputerTraining.edu on the radio but never really researched it until I finally hit my breaking point when I no longer felt like a valued team member at my company. I have always enjoyed working with computers and I have always been the “go-to” guy among my friends and family for computer problems. I thought ComputerTraining.edu could be my shot for turning something that was a hobby into a career.

I entered the class and knew pretty much all the basics, but as the course went along, I started questioning if I really could understand all of the new information. It was tough but I made it. There are still many things I have to learn about the information and insight given, especially from the instructor who was always willing to help and make sure I was on track with the program. He has given me a solid understanding for me launch my new career path.

I have now acquired an IT contract position, thanks to the wonderful efforts of the Director of Placement. She was always there to prep, coach, and assist me with valuable information for obtaining a position in the IT field. I strongly believe that without her help I would still be looking for a position in IT. The skill sets I learned from the resume and interviewing sessions with her are invaluable and will assist me for a lifetime, no matter what the career field may be.

In conclusion, I would recommend anyone is looking for a career change or to boost their current career in the IT field to come to ComputerTraining.edu."

"Coming from a background in sales for eighteen years, I needed a change of pace. I was tired of sales and I wanted to finally do something that I would enjoy, I wanted to get out of bed in the morning and enjoy what I did everyday. I wanted to turn my hobby into my career.

I always had a passion for computers for a long time. I wanted to get educated in them and go back to school for them but I did not feel that I needed a degree…nor did I want to spend all that time in school. I looked into several different schooling options and ComputerTraining.edu was the right fit for me. I was looking to get Microsoft certified in a short amount of time.

While attending the program, I learned so many new things that I never knew before. The information was intense. It helped me to ask a lot of questions to the instructor and keep up with all the homework and quizzes that were assigned. It was very important to me to keep on top of all the homework and assignments. It helped me understand the material better. If there was a piece of information that I did not quite understand, I would talk to the instructor and not put it off. You really need to have it in you to succeed and to get through the class.

After I graduated the program, I was still searching for a position. I began working with the Career Services specialist on a daily basis; we were setting up interviews left and right and applying to positions as much as I could. The Career Services specialist helped me stay positive and encouraged me to find a position. We both put a lot of time into the searching progress.

I am now in with a great company doing exactly what I wanted to be doing. I know there is so much room for advancement here. I am truly enjoying my new IT position."

"Are you stupid? Are you lazy? What are you waiting for? – ComputerTraining.edu asks. Silly, perhaps? I think not! What was I waiting for? From a B.S. in Computer Science to a M.B.A in Technology Management to an Online Skills Challenge at ComputerTraining.edu, I finally found the answer! Although armed with a plethora of ‘classroom’ education, I still lacked the ‘real-world’ skills to make a solid entrance into IT until I became an MCSE with this program. My trainer not only proved to be 100% committed to seeing the class succeed, she provided astounding motivation and encouragement – even sharing our disappointments and setbacks as if they were her own! (You won’t see that in any college).

While hard work and commitment was expected of me, the reward has exceeded my expectations, as the career services support provided job placement opportunities, interview techniques, resume assistance, and so much more. I have never felt more confident walking into an interview. Armed with my new skills and a blazing resume, I landed my IT job one month out of the program on my very first interview. I’m still happily employed with that company, now a year later! I have ComputerTraining.edu to thank for a 72% boost in salary and an exciting, new career in IT – now that’s value!"

"My IT background began with my current employer seven years ago. Our IT Analyst was my mentor and as I showed an interest in learning the company's infrastructure, she allowed me to watch over her. I found a new interest and knew that to take that interest to a new level Microsoft certifications and formal training was what I needed to achieve that.

I like the fact that I am always learning. I am challenged everyday and know that the sky is the limit in this constant changing field.

My biggest fear was time. I had been out of school for over fifteen years and had a full time job and family to focus on. Finding time to add school to the puzzle was a challenge. I had to schedule the time and stick to that schedule. It was hard, but something I knew I wanted and had to do for myself.

Keep an open mind. Don't allow yourself to get discouraged. Remind yourself that you are in school to learn, tell yourself that it is okay to make mistakes and not know everything. You may not score a 100% every time, but giving the 100% effort will make all of the difference in the outcome of your journey through this program.

I have a new found discipline. I taught myself that I could do this and succeed. Originally when I signed up for this program I had my eye on a newly developing position with my current employer. I knew that without the education and certifications I couldn't promote within the company. I studied hard, earned the certifications and was offered a promotion. Knowledge is everything. I learned that if you want something bad enough you have to take the steps necessary to achieve in getting it. ComputerTraining.edu taught not only the technical skills but skills needed to work as a team."

"I had been working for a check cashing business as a branch manager. I was responsible for maintaining the store and training employees. I helped out by maintaining the work stations and troubleshooting any network or printer problems. I felt like it was a time for a change and had always been into technology, so I figured I would make a career out of it. I was worried about being able to pay for the program, but luckily I had a co-signer.

I would tell new students to take it slow. It can be overwhelming at times, but if you’re patient with it, you’ll get the concepts. Also, you must study, study, study!

This program has given me a much broader knowledge of the IT world. I came into the program knowing some, but am coming out knowing a lot more than I would have ever imagined."

"My computer background was mostly end user, and I knew how to perform the basics, but not much else. I considered getting my certifications because computers are the way that the world is going and I was tired of being in an unstable construction field.

The thing I enjoy most about my new position as a Network Administrator is the freedom. I do not have many people over me, and I like working independently.

My biggest fear when enrolling into the program was the stability of the job market, and my chances of obtaining an IT position when the course was over. The Director of Placement was very helpful in eliminating those fears though and even before I was done with the program, I had a job!

My advice would be to study! That was the one thing that got me through this experience. The lectures were very helpful, but mostly doing the labs on my own time and re-reading chapters was what really helped me be successful.

Overall, my experience here at ComputerTraining.edu was great. The instructors and the staff were extremely helpful and very qualified. Now that I have a job in the IT field, I feel much more secure in my future. For potential students, my suggestion would be to study, study, study. The program is great, but the only way to succeed is to put forth 100% effort."
