"I began working with computers in 1994 when I started my college education with a major in Computer Science. After four years of learning and practicing programming, I became discouraged from the field and realized I was unsatisfied with what my future had to offer. I dropped out of college and decided to test the waters in sales; I spent four years working as a store manager. Unfortunately, I realized that retail work was not the best fit for me, but while working as a sales representative for a copier company, I found my calling. I began working more on the technical side, as opposed to the sales. I was configuring and troubleshooting connectivity issues and working with network administrators to solve the printing, scanning, and email issues. Because I lacked direction, my sales decreased significantly as I was only interested in fixing the technical problems. Instead of making my sales position redundant, my company offered me a position as an entry level Network Administrator. I spent five years working and learning from the Senior Network Administrator, who was a self taught MCSE. He was able to teach and mentor me so that I could fulfill my daily responsibilities and successfully perform my job.

About three years ago my company was acquired and my position became obsolete, as the parent company had a fully staffed IT department. I spent the next two years working a variety a jobs while searching for a company that was in need of an entry to mid level Network Administrator. After hearing the same response in a half dozen interviews: “…we like your experience, but are uncomfortable with your lack of technical education…,” I decided I was going to get the education I needed. While driving home from that last interview, I heard a ComputerTraining.edu commercial on the radio and immediately went home and took the Online Skills Challenge. About thirty minutes after taking the test, a recruiter called and asked me to come in to discuss what my options were. Once I met with the recruiter and the classroom instructor, I was sold! This was the program that was designed for me.

After being in the program for only two and a half months, I already have my MCP and MCTS and will have my MCSA by the completion of the program. In addition to my certifications, I was hired by Temple University and am currently working in the Computer Services Department on main campus. It is because of ComputerTraining.edu that I have had so many doors open to me with endless possibilities. I would recommend ComputerTraining.edu to anyone that enjoys working in the technical field and anyone who wants to make a positive change in their life, regardless of their current education or training!"

"Before attending ComputerTraining.edu, I had basic computer skills. I have always really enjoyed technologies and the ever growing Information Technology industry so I decided to make a career change to pursue positions I would enjoy.

I now work in a 91 billion dollar a year Fortune 500 company as an Enterprise IT Project Manager. Every day is a challenge and every day is a learning experience that further expands my knowledge that I gained from ComputerTraining.edu. I couldn’t be more pleased with my new occupation.

My biggest concerns before attending ComputerTraining.edu were whether or not I would be able to put the time aside to complete the program or would I even be able to pass the course. A blessing in disguise came when I was laid off at the beginning of the course, which helped clear time for me to put every effort I could into making the most out of the program. The advice I would offer to new students entering the program is to prepare to put your life on hold for six months and dedicate yourself fully to this course. Trust me, it will pay off and it has for me, more than I ever could have expected.

The overall experience of ComputerTraining.edu has helped me have a better understanding of Information Technology. I have used what I learned at ComputerTraining.edu to make positive changes in my life and career and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me because of this program."

"I was a college graduate that I considered getting certified, because I had been teaching for six years and was no longer satisfied with a limited salary. I decided to make a career change because I wanted something that would push my mental capabilities as well as be financially rewarding.

The thing I like most about my new career is the diverse knowledge that I accumulate on a day-to-day basis. The opportunities that I'm awarded in the career field are limitless. I can take this career and go anywhere in the country or the world, and not be replaceable.

My biggest concern when leaving my previous career was the fear of change. I overcame that fear by giving ComputerTraining.edu a shot. I would give new students the advice of sticking with it and not being scared of change. The program gives you everything you need to make a life change and hopefully put yourself in a better position for the future.

The overall experience has changed my life for the better. I have the opportunity to work in a brand new career field that is always evolving. This career field will give me a better quality of life for my family, and I am glad that I made the change."

"My reasons for seeking certification and a career change were simple. I was working 70 to 90 hours a week for almost twenty years and I was burned out. I had reached the ceiling in my industry as far as pay was concerned and I was no longer interested in my work. I needed a change.

To my friends and family, I was always the first one they called when they had a computer problem, and even at my job I was the point-of-sale computer problem solver. It seemed like I was a good candidate for this program, so I took the Online Skills Challenge.

After enrolling, I began to realize that this was going to be more challenging than I had expected. I was determined and I knew I was going to have to do some serious time management. Each of the certifications I was able to achieve required a solid 80 to 90 hours of intense study.

In the end it all paid off. Career Services did a great job of marketing me in the field and really prepared me for making a fantastic career change. Before graduation, I was hired by a company with more than 250 computer repair franchises. I have been nothing but pleased with my experience at ComputerTraining.edu. So much so, that I am returning to share the knowledge I have gained with new students, as an intern."

"I had no computer background prior to coming to ComputerTraining.edu. The majority of my work history was in the restaurant industry. I wanted a career change so that I could have more room for growth professionally and financially. As well as have better work hours. Now that I’m employed in the IT field, I have much more room for growth and am working the hours that I want.

I was scared that because I didn’t have any computer knowledge, that I wasn’t going to be able to grasp the concepts in such a short amount of time. By sticking with the program and asking lots of questions, I was able to get my first certification by month three of the program.

I would tell new students not to get overwhelmed and to be sure to come to every class. Make sure to ask lots of questions and keep up on all the homework and studying.

This experience has given me more time with my kids and less back pain, since now I’m not carrying heavy trays all night long."

"I knew I wanted to transition solely into the IT industry, but I was having a difficult time getting employers to take a gamble that I could take my home-grown IT skills and copier industry skills and complete all of the tasks assigned. Employers were looking for training and certification, both of which, I did not have.

So I did some research, found ComputerTraining.edu, and decided to take their Online Skills Challenge. Within hours, a representative from ComputerTraining.edu contacted me to inquire about my interest and sincerity in gaining the skills and certifications needed to make the move I knew I wanted to make.

My biggest concern was completing an intense six-month course while working full-time and maintaining a personal life. Fortunately, I had an excellent support team at home and at school so I not only successfully completed the course…I earned my MCTS and MCP certifications and landed a fantastic job prior to graduation. Was it hard? Yes! Was it worth it? Yes! Would I recommend it to others? Yes!"

"With already obtaining a bachelors degree in Information Systems Management I new my passion was in the technology field. I graduated college and somehow I fell out of the field. I was working as a government contractor and moving more and more away from what path I wanted to be on. I did not have experience, nor did I have any technical certifications. I wanted to get back on track, obtain my Microsoft certifications and start a career on the path that I once was on. I heard the ad on the radio and I decided this was the best option for me. I looked at other schools in the area but none of them offered the type of program that ComputerTraining.edu had offered. I also liked the location. It was close to my home.

You definitely have to make it to every class! The labs set up in the class really helped me understand what I would be doing in a real technical department. The hardest part was managing time. Working a full time job, attending night school and trying to complete all the homework was difficult…there was no time to slack off. I had to stay focused. The quizzes and homework were very helpful, the more I re-read the textbooks, kept up with the homework, took the quizzes, the easier I found the certification exams were.

I am graduating soon, a couple weeks to go and I have already found a new career in the information technology field. Thanks to the Career Services department. We worked together as a team and I got to get back on track with the career path that I always wanted to be on. I am looking forward to my future in the technology field. I can only go up from here!"
