Student Success Stories
"Before ComputerTraining.edu, my computer background was very minimal. I had been exposed to it in my employment opportunities and in my personal use, but I was nowhere near as skilled as I am today. I knew I had a passion for the industry and I was extremely tired of being at a dead end job. I reached the salary peak for my position and it came to be a depressing feeling thinking that I would be in my current position for the rest of my career. I knew the Information Technology industry is going nowhere but up and with my passion for computers, I knew ComputerTraining.edu was the right decision for me. I also really liked the fact that the program is only six months long and then I could be on a new career path.

My new career offers a lot of new opportunities for me. I work for a large company with a lot of growth opportunities. I am pleased to be able to utilize my education and skills that I gained from ComputerTraining.edu. I plan to work in this position for a few years and then use it as a stepping stone to my next great opportunity. I would like to stay with my current company and move around into their IT department.

My biggest fears and concerns before entering the program were that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with the fast paced course and that I wouldn’t be able to find a good position after graduation. I have a very strong work ethic and with encouragement from my instructor and peers I graduated at the top of my class fully certified. I have also found myself a much better position that I could have ever hoped for.

The advice I would give to the new students entering the program is to get to know your peers in class and work together. A group of us held study groups constantly outside of class and we formed great friendships where we were able to rely on one another and push through the course together. We were really able to learn from one another and contribute to each other’s success. I would also give the advice to stay on top of your studying and to not take a break. I got in the habit of studying and testing and I did not break until I was MCSE Certified. I feel if I would have stopped and took a break, I would have not finished the program fully certified.

The overall experience of ComputerTraining.edu has changed my life in many positive ways. I have been able to change careers and have so many new career opportunities. I was also able to gain confidence in myself and feel passionate about what I am doing. I made great friends through the course who I plan to keep in contact with throughout my career."

"I started off as a carpenter way back when. I spent eighteen years working my way up the ladder, only for the housing market to crash, and be laid off. While I worked as a carpenter, I was making decent money, around 65k per year, give or take, it really depended on how the weather patterns came and went in any given year.

Coming to ComputerTraining.edu, I was concerned that I may be too old to swap career paths, or maybe I might not really understand all the material. Just because I never did much with computers, unless I really had to, but I found out really quick, that everyone here at ComputerTraining.edu really is interested in your success, not just in the classroom, but also in finding a job, and being able to really do the job. The tools given by the instructors and ComputerTraining.edu don’t even begin to cover what is listed to on the website, or in the informational they provided me on the first visit, and it doesn’t end when you graduate.

Now, I am enjoying the fact I can sit at a desk, inside and out of the weather, I am not physically drained at the end of the day, and I know that I am making a difference by helping people out with computers. I feel really lucky to have come to ComputerTraining.edu and gain the knowledge and support of some really great people, and I know that for me to step out into a corporate world making 30K per year with absolutely no experience, and only six months of class behind me is the start of some really great opportunity’s coming my way.

My best piece of advice to anyone thinking of attending ComputerTraining.edu, is really use all the tools your given, the resume help (I didn’t even have one when I walked through the door, but I have a really great one now) the extra effort the instructors put in, they come in early, they will have study sessions and things on Saturday’s if you need it, make use of it, six months is a short time for a lot of material to cover, but its very do-able, and you only need to focus, study, and access everyone at ComputerTraining.edu, including your classmates."

"When I started the program I was working as a 30 hour a week video editor who did in home computer repair for friends and about fifteen acquaintances. I was extremely nervous about starting the program. Sure, I knew about computers but had never really looked into networking or certification. I wondered whether I was the right material, and whether the study and testing was for me.

Shortly after I started I realized my instructor was just the person I needed to get over my fears. He was enthusiastic and pushed me to the potential he saw I had. I started picking up on the new information very rapidly and started doing well in my homework and quizzes.

After I passed my first couple of certifications I knew this was the right field for me. I went from being terrified of taking the certification exams to not being able to wait until I take my next one. I am now working as an IT & Technology consultant with around 50 clients. I do remote access monitoring support, network installs, server/system maintenance. These are the kinds of jobs I never thought I would be able to do, but thanks to ComputerTraining.edu and my certifications I can and I can also enjoy my work.

I would recommend any student to find a good lab partner or more than one in class and work along with them and you will learn and be able to pick up on things easier. Also put as much time into the course as possible. Use every moment you have to work with your instructor. You will go very far if you do."

"Before starting at ComputerTraining.edu, I was a CompTIA A+ Certified Computer Repair Technician. I had previous Computer Repair/Network training, but that was not enough get the employment that I wanted. I knew I need to make a change and achieve additional certifications to get where I wanted to really be in my career. I worked extremely hard in class and always took advantage of the extra time my instructor provided for us. I was also very diligent in my work with Career Services as they were one of my best resources.

Within two months of starting at ComputerTraining.edu, I was working in the IT Field, using the knowledge and skills that I was learning and I obtained my MCP. In addition to providing me with the tools need to pursue the MCSE Certification, ComputerTraining.edu propelled my IT Career. I am confident that my career will be long lasting and very fulfilling in this industry. I am very pleased I took the training to prepare me for the rest of my life!"

"My computer background only consisted of fixing my own computer and playing video games before coming to ComputerTraining.edu. I’ve always had a love for computers and have always been technically inclined so I felt that it was in the best interest for my future career.

I love my new career! The satisfaction of being able to troubleshoot and resolve issues and actually being able to do it is a great feeling. My work schedule is very flexible and it makes going to work everyday fun and exciting.

I didn’t have any concerns before coming to ComputerTraining.edu. I just knew this was something that I wanted to do and that I needed to put a lot of effort into it. The support from everyone in the class, to the instructor, to the Director of Career Services really helped keep me focused when I needed the extra push to continue testing. I would tell new students entering the program to find your focus, set goals for yourself, and go after them.

I can officially say that I have a career now instead of a regular job. I no longer dread going to work. Being able to learn and get real life hands on experiences in my new position everyday is exciting, and I owe that to ComputerTraining.edu. It has given me an opportunity that I may not have been able to attain on my own!"

" I attended ComputerTraining.edu a little under a year ago. All though I had a lot of college course work in computer science before, ComputerTraining.edu gave me a real world IT vocabulary and real world IT concepts that extend outside of the Microsoft family.

I also enjoyed the hands on labs and the friendly atmosphere. ComputerTraining.edu also prepared me for job interviews as well help me put together an impressive resume that caught the eye of many IT employers.

Today I work for the largest privately owned data center provider on the east coast. My job consists of working with every IT solution imaginable, which greatly increases my IT experience with every passing day. It is a good feeling that people not only have confidence in me to do the job, but they depend on me to solve those daily issues and keep their IT solutions working. My opportunities are definitely limitless and it all started with ComputerTraining.edu."

"I only had intermediate computer skills when I came to ComputerTraining.edu. I realized that I needed to take my career to the next level when I was working as a Network Technician in my previous position. I came to ComputerTraining.edu to take that next step and to get my certifications.

I love having the ability to understand network issues and to be able to resolve those issues now. I am able to help others fix their computer problems and knowing that I can do the job and help people at the same time is very rewarding.

I researched everything I could find on ComputerTraining.edu before coming to the school. I knew that I needed to dedicate a lot of time to studying to be able to keep up successfully with all of the coursework and exams. I didn’t have any concerns because I knew what I needed to do going into the program.

I would tell everyone that comes into the program to make sure they stay on top of their studies. You get out of the program what you put into it. ComputerTraining.edu gave me the confidence to be able to succeed in my new career as an IT Manager of an up and coming company. It has given me a sense of self pride and accomplishment."
