"Before starting at ComputerTraining.edu, I had mainframe experience but was self taught on personal computers and networking. I was working in retail for various companies in management capacities. I wanted to get into the networking field but was never given the chance because I did not have the degree or certifications behind me. I was in a rut and tired of working holidays and weekends. I was tired of always missing my daughter and wife. My daughter was growing up so fast and I was not there to watch and enjoy it. I finally said enough is enough. I heard the radio commercials and thought, “Why can't I do that?” my answer was obvious, I could do it.
I received my MCP certification and completed my training in only six months. I had a great instructor and a great career services person behind me in my career search. I quickly started working for a non-profit organization that values me as an important and integral part of their staff. I have the respect I felt I deserved but never received in past jobs. This recent holiday I was home for the first time with my wife and daughter. I owe it all to ComputerTraining.edu. They changed my life in ways I only could have hoped for.
I would recommend this course to anyone who is unhappy with their current job and is willing to commit to changing their lives for the better. I thank ComputerTraining.edu everyday I go to work. How many people can honestly say they can't wait to get to work? I can."

"I was between jobs when I decided to enroll at ComputerTraining.edu in the Spring of 2007. I left my previous job because I was not getting any personal satisfaction from my work. I was working at a large family health and fitness center in their business administration department and wearing several different hats every day. When I started that job, I did not have any significant computer experience. What I noticed, while working there, was that I did have an aptitude to pick up on and figure out many of our software and network issues.
I decided to enroll at ComputerTraining.edu because I wanted to have a specialty, one focused thing that not only I was good at, but that I enjoyed doing. The past six months have not been easy, but have definitely been worth it. I have learned so many things and also have created a strong network of people that have the same interest as I do. I am definitely an example of “it’s never too late to learn something new!"
Once I became accustomed to the schedule of classes, homework and studying, I decided to take on a part time job to help out a friend who was starting a new division of a financial planning organization. What I have been able to do is parlay that part time job into a full time job now that our classes are coming to an end. The principals of the financial planning organization decided that it was time to have an in-house IT person to manage their network, and there I was! I am very excited to be a part of their team and look forward to going to work every day, a much better feeling than what I was experiencing at my previous place of employment.
I have to say that although these past six months have been extraordinarily busy, I have two very active high school age children, two very active German shepherds, I am involved in a new children’s fitness center that is opening in town. I am very glad that I took the Online Skills Challenge and made the decision to join the class. I now have a focused position in a company that I enjoy working for and get great satisfaction from what I am doing every day."

"Even though I have used computers all my life and had a moderate interest in computer programming, I had never thought about designing networks and being an Administrator. I was waiting tables at a brewery when I heard the commercial for ComputerTraining.edu. My dad had attempted to get his MCSE years ago when I was still in high school, but was unsuccessful in his attempts.
After visiting the ComputerTraining.edu website and realizing there was a campus ten minutes from my house, I took the Online Skills Challenge. The biggest factor in my decision was stability. I wanted to get a good career, with normal hours so I could spend more time with my wife.
The best part is how marketable I am. When I got my MCP certification, I posted my resume and was getting calls from recruiters for weeks after I accepted my current tech support position. Now that I have my MCSE, I am ready to start looking for a more advanced position, with an even better salary. The number of tech jobs available is unbelievable.
The best part of ComputerTraining.edu was that it took only six months and I worked in the meantime. At first, I thought the course would be a breeze…it wasn’t. The best advice I can give is to study! Install the copies of software you receive and learn them!
My understanding of computers and network infrastructure has climbed to a level I did not know existed, and I have much more to learn. Aside from a fun, rewarding career, there is a lot more room for advancement in the field of technology than ever possible waiting tables."

"A few years ago I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Computer Engineering. I then moved to Alexandria, VA and started looking for a job. I was working as a Network Technician as an independent contractor. I didn’t have any health insurance and was only paid based on commission. I was getting some experience, however this was far from my dream job. I knew it was time for something new.
I enrolled at ComputerTraining.edu and quickly got my MCP. I accepted a job as a Network Engineer for Qwest Communications and am now working on Wide Area Networks (WAN). I am receiving great hands on experience while configuring and troubleshooting routers. I went on to get additional certifications and am hoping to soon be a Systems Engineer. This position is a stepping stone to my future.
To any students coming into the program, I would suggest focusing on reading the books and doing the labs. Homework and the practice tests are also very important and need to be completed within the given amount of time. Make sure not to miss class and ask lots of questions!
The overall experience definitely changed my life because I gained hands on experience on installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows XP and Server 2003. Moreover, this class increased my professional horizon and made me a very competitive candidate in my career."

"My background consists of four years at Baldwin-Wallace College with a major in Computer Information Systems. I was tired of being unappreciated and working manual labor. I wanted to have a career that would allow me to utilize my computer background. What I like most about my new career is the flexibility and the ability to work from home. This new career has many perks and much room for advancement.
My biggest fear for entering the program is that I would not be able to find the time to study for the exams. I was able to work my schedule so that I could come directly to class after work. I used this time to review and ask questions about topics I didn’t fully understand.
My advice would be to put all you have towards those six months. There is so much information that you will use for the rest of your life. Don’t let yourself get behind and don’t give up. There are practice test along the way and don’t be surprised when you get low scores. It is amazing how fast those scores will turn around.
I now have a good feeling when I go to work. I feel appreciated and I love what I do."

"After working in the IT field for over five years as a IT Product Manager and Technology Specialist, the company I was working for was sold. Having years of IT experience was one thing, not having the certifications to backup my experience was another.
ComputerTraining.edu gave me the confidence, skills and study habits to fulfill that part of my resume. The staff at ComputerTraining.edu staff was
stellar. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and am truly thankful for
the time they took to make sure I fully understood and grasp the concepts
and technical skills that are now required of me at my new job."

"I am A+ certified and always used computers for personal use. I wanted to get certified and make a career change because I was looking for a more secure job with benefits. I like how my new career will offer possibilities for advancement and I’m looking forward to using the skills I learned here.
My biggest concern was time. It takes a lot of time to study. Between working a job, coming to school and renovating a house I would study at all hours of the night. I also learned I have a coffee tolerance! Advice I would give new students is that you get what you give. You’re not going to get anything if you don’t give anything. I use the KISS method – keep it simple stupid.
The experience at ComputerTraining.edu has changed my life and career because I now have a new, secure job. I’m one of those people if I want to do something, I just do it."
