A Training Center is only as good as the students that fill its classrooms.  If our students are not successful, we are not successful.   Below are just a few of the many student success stories happening at ComputerTraining.edu.

Student Success Stories

"I've built personal computers for myself and a couple of friends.  I have had some experience in writing small scripts for games as well as other small programs.  I’ve read some books on computers and looked into getting A+ certification for years.  I finally made the choice when my job offered a cash buyout.  Now I'm looking towards a career in IT, not just a job.  I have wanted to work with computers on some level since high school but I never sought out a way to get into IT, ComputerTraining.edu is the way.

With certification, I have a way to provide for my family that I previously didn't have.  I have a chance to move up in life and make a better life for my family that I didn't have before I went to ComputerTraining.edu.  I'm joining a field where the sky is the limit. ComputerTraining.edu helped me achieve a career in IT, something I've wanted for a long time.

I worried that the subject matter would be beyond what I could comprehend since I felt I didn't know much about computers.  I had been out of school for ten years so I wasn't sure if I could still do homework and study while working and spending time with my family.  I found the best way to accomplish everything I wanted, I had to manage my time better and be more constructive with my time.  I scheduled study time and family time around working and I didn't waste time watching a lot of TV.

Universally at the end of class, every student said that we should have spent more time reading the books and studying.  Reading before we went over the chapter gave us an idea of what we were going to learn in class.  But rereading the chapter after learning the chapter in class really helps to lock the information in your brain because now you understand everything the book is talking about.

ComputerTraining.edu taught me what I'm capable of doing when I put my mind to something.  I learned the skills necessary to start a career in the IT field and feel confident that I can be a productive employee for a company right out of the program!"

"My friend told me he had taken the Online Skills Challenge at ComputerTraining.edu after hearing the advertisements on the radio.  I thought it would be fun to take it for kicks to see how I did, but it ended up being a little harder than I thought.  Shortly after finishing the skills challenge I received a call that would change my life.

The recruiter I spoke with had a lot of great things to say about the program and for the first time got me interested in creating a path for my life.  Working for a home improvement warehouse was neither exciting, nor rewarding, and frankly my body was starting to wear down.  I spoke with the admissions officer at my location and within a few short months I was already working towards a brighter future.

The instructor at my school was fantastic.  I spent a few years at Temple University and some time at Community College, but I have never been in a more efficient learning environment.  The classroom was enriched mostly by such an influx of like-minded individuals; everyone was there because they were in a dead-end job and wanted more out of their career.   I’ve found it to be much easier to learn in a situation where everyone can bond through their motivations.

Only a few months after beginning the course I had already landed my first IT job (before even earning my MCP) at a Help Desk for a world renowned Hospital.  It was a short contract, but I was looking to build a resume and didn’t mind the impermanence so much.  It didn’t take long to land my second job at a similar place, where I am currently still working.  I don’t know where I’ll be employed in the distant future, but it’s not something I’m worried about anymore now that I’m qualified in a high-demand field that seems to be ever expanding.  Currently my MCP is landing me many potential jobs, but once I finish my higher-level certifications I expect that number to increase exponentially.  As of now I am planning for an MCSE: Security certification, but I know it will not end there.

Since graduating from ComputerTraining.edu I’ve already doubled the money I was making before at my previous employer, and I know that it will be possible for me to double my salary several more times in my life.  I know that the decision to go through the training will prove to be the best decision of my adult life."

"I decided to come to ComputerTraining.edu to further my education and to make more money. I was selling shoes previously and did not like it. It was an absolute bore and I needed to make a change.  I always had an interest in computers but did not know too much about them.  I decided to further my education and attend the program at ComputerTraining.edu

In class I enjoyed learning all kinds of things. I enjoyed the instructor and learned a lot of new information from him.  Some advice that I can give to others to succeed through this course is to have the willingness to learn within the short amount of time. You need dedication and a ton of motivation to get through it.

Currently I love doing what I am doing. I work very close to my house and this is the first time that I really enjoy what I do everyday.  Everyday I am learning more and more things with my peers. There is always more to know about computers.  I have not finished all my certifications yet but I am currently studying for them and my company has decided to send me back to obtain them."

"I have always had a knack for computers and luckily, they are now used in everyday life. I decided that in high school I would take some classes my Junior and Senior year to learn about computers. I learned some basics that I needed to know that weren’t really being taught in the classes.  They just assumed that you knew these things coming in. Although I learned a lot, these classes weren’t nearly enough to get my MCSE. So after hearing the ads on the radio for ComputerTraining.edu, I thought what the heck, I’ll give it a shot. I knew that I liked computers but I really didn’t know what to do and a network engineering position sounded like something interesting to me.

Currently I am now working at the Humane Society in Dayton and in the IT department; in fact I am the whole department! I run the website and the network. My current projects will better help my career, and I like knowing that everyday I’m getting practice. Right now I’m learning about wireless network set up and software and will soon train the other employees on how to use these new tools. I like knowing that I am the IT department and I get to set up their network how I see fit and call my own shots! With my training at ComputerTraining.edu, as well as this experience, I will be able to achieve my MCSE.

My biggest concern about entering the program was that I had heard mixed reviews from some friends about how tough it would be. I quickly realized that it was going to take hard work and attendance no matter what. You really have to study and study hard to succeed in the IT field. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You can only learn by asking questions and doing the labs. Try not to follow other people. Doing things independently by trial and error really helped me learn. With all this training and experience I'm no longer working at in a dead-end job making $7.25 an hour. I'm the Network Administrator for the Humane Society and I'm making $32,000 a year and it only gets better from here on out!"

"I was looking to better myself and was working at a dead-end job. I thought ComputerTraining.edu was a great move for me. I always had an interest in computers; I was so fascinated with the whole revolution of the world. It seems like everything revolves around technology these days.

In class, I felt I was getting a good handle of things. I am such a hands-on kind of guy, so the techniques in class and labs helped me discover more depth to what I was learning from the textbook.

You have to be focused while going through the class. It was new information to me and it can be confusing at first.  Stick to it and ask as many questions as you can! The instructor is a great resource; you just have come in early and be sure to use the resources that are there for you."

"I was working in a position that was going nowhere when I heard the ComputerTraining.edu commercial on the radio. I have always been into computers and technology so I thought that this may be the right path to follow.

Being pretty much a novice when it came to IT, I was extremely nervous about my new career path. At first it was a lot to handle. But after all the pieces started to fall into place, it was like second nature. It was a lot of hard, but good, work in order to learn everything I needed to. The Instructor was fantastic and certainly made coming to class not only fun but allowed us the ability to take on the amount of work it took without worry. Combined with class, career services, and the hands-on labs this program is not only exciting but also fulfilling.

This course prepared me for taking exams with a lot more confidence. This was a perfect way to celebrate my hard work and my continuing hard work in the future."

"With some computer experience behind me, I came into the class ready to roll. With much dedication and hard work, I had nothing but high hopes for getting all my certifications finished and landing a much
nicer job than the one I was currently in.

I left my ComputerTraining.edu internship with my MCSE and a few choices for positions. Six months later, I was making double what I did before with better benefits. Thanks ComputerTraining.edu!"

"I have been obsessed with computers and technology since I was a little kid. I had experimented and taught myself so much about computers until I found myself at a roadblock. ComputerTraining.edu enabled me to further my learning and understanding of computers.

Once I had decided to continue my education and go back to college, I quickly realized that I had unfortunately chosen the wrong college to go to for the career path I was working toward. One day while wasting my time in that college I heard a radio ad about ComputerTraining.edu and took the Online Skills Challenge. After that day, my whole world has changed.

I owe all of my success to the great teachers, facilities, and career services staff for actually caring about me as an individual and not just another number. Although I learned a lot from the curriculum at ComputerTraining.edu, I think that I learned a lot more about how the computer field works and what to expect in my travels.  Also I learned from everyone there that it is an ongoing process that one can never quit in the pursuit of knowledge. As there is always more to know."
