"After working in the labor trade as a home builder for over twenty years, I came to the realization that my salary had almost reached its limit, not to mention the physical toll I was taking. I had taken the Online Skills Challenge, and to my surprise, did fairly well on it. I received a call from the Director of Admissions and was invited to take a tour of the facility. Initially, I passed on the opportunity.
Then, after beating myself up for another two years in construction, I thought I’d give ComputerTraining.edu a shot. I took the skills challenge, and again received a call. This time, I took them up on the offer.
Now that I have completed the course and learned how to present myself as a professional in the IT field, I could kick myself for not doing it two years earlier! When I first went for the initial interview I told the director I was very nervous about pursuing a new career and he said to me, “You should be!” which initially scared me! But with tons of determination, dedication, and hard work I can honestly say, “I’ve succeeded.”
Having learned the skills needed to pursue a career as an IT professional, I have done just that. I landed a job as the System Administrator with an organization not unlike ComputerTraining.edu. I am enjoying every aspect of my new position. Being able to explore new paths for the company’s network is very exciting and challenging. It is nice to be able to set it up the way I want, as well as giving everyone the freedom they need while working on the network.
ComputerTraining.edu has given me a new outlook on life with a more rewarding future in a field I have always dreamed about!"

"I spent many years working in a career that, despite its financial rewards, lacked personal development or challenge. I just couldn’t see myself doing the same task everyday for the rest of my life. I had worked with computers as a hobby, helping friends and family out with computer problems and such, so I decided it was time to make something happen.
When I first started thinking about the ComputerTraining.edu program, I was concerned that it would be too advanced and I would waste my money and come out knowing no more than when I enrolled. The staff assured me that the program was perfect for a career changer, like me, as well as people looking to start a career. The training is intensive and fast-paced, but no more so than they explain when you sign up to take the course.
My advice to anyone thinking about whether or not to enroll is to sit in on a class and talk to the instructor and students. You’ll learn that there is no better way to get certified. Within the six months, I learned everything I needed to know to get certified and more. ComputerTraining.edu was great because of the way the classes are presented. The instructor I had is, in my view, one of the best in the business, extremely knowledgeable about every facet of the course and material. He had a genuine sincerity about wanting students to succeed. The classes give you a lot of hands on experience that most other schools don't offer. This gives you a better understanding of how things work, as opposed to just reading about them.
ComputerTraining.edu is more than a means to get you certified. They also help prepare you for getting a job. The Career Services department is amazing. Helping with resumes, establishing contacts with major companies, grooming, and interview prep are all part of the services offered.
With the skills and knowledge I have now, my future is wide open. I can pursue any IT position and know that I can accomplish my goals."

"My main reason for getting certified was a desire for better job than the position in which I was in at the time. I did not have a lot of computer knowledge, but I had an understanding of the basics. I could install the OS, programs, hard drives, video cards, and power supplies.
It is rewarding to know that I went from doing a very physical job to a job that allowed me to think through problems. The wear and tear that my body does not have to go through anymore is a great benefit, as is not having to take pay cuts!
I had a few concerns before I started. The biggest was the length of the course. It seemed too short to me. It is great that is only takes six months, but its important to realize that you have to sacrifice to get the work done, which is exactly what I was told before signing up.
The advice that I would give is make sure you have enough time to give to the work because if you’re not prepared, then you are just wasting your time and money.
My life and career have both been changed in a very positive way. I like going to work and enjoy what I do. When you enjoy your work it does not feel like a job. I have a wide range of opportunities now that I didn’t have six months ago."

"When I first learned about ComputerTraining.edu, I was a little apprehensive about starting the program because of the commitment that was involved. I had a general knowledge of computers, but never worked in the field. Talking to the admissions director really put me at ease and made me realize that I was making the right choice.
The coursework was a challenge, but I learned so much in the time that I was there that I understood why the coursework was so challenging. I use everything that I learned from ComputerTraining.edu in my new career. All of my training made the transition very smooth. Now, I am working as a Computer Support Specialist at a very large and reputable company using the skills that I gained from ComputerTraining.edu. My pay scale has also dramatically increased since the career change and will continue growing.
The staff is wonderful, very supportive, and were there for me whenever I needed them. ComputerTraining.edu changed my life!"

"My interest in computers started about ten years ago. Like most, I used my first PC for some form of home entertainment. I have always had a fascination with old movies and I got it into my head to take a screen shot from an old movie and use it as wallpaper for my desktop. Well one thing led to another and before long I was editing videos on my computers. Networking and troubleshooting problems came easy to me and after several years of debating I decided to get certified.
Making the decision to enroll with ComputerTraining.edu did not come easy, however. After all I was fifty-five years old and changing careers at my age was not an easy matter. Just the thought of going back to school scared me to no end. I also had a very good paying job. However I was not very happy. So I took on the challenge. It took a lot of flexibility on my part. Finding the time and the discipline to read and study was very difficult for me. But before I knew it six months had gone by and I had completed the course.
The most frustrating part of my career change was finding a job. I could not find any positions that did not require previous experience. And I could not afford to take too drastic a cut from my present salary. I'm sure that my age was a drawback, after all why hire a fifty-year plus applicant requesting a $50,000 plus salary when you can hire a much younger person for a lot less? I must have sent out about twenty resumes a day, everyday for five months. I went on over a dozen interviews from Philadelphia to New York City. There were times when I just wanted to quit. However, thanks to my Director of Placement from Career Services in Bensalem, I plowed on. She would call or write about everyday and ask how things were going, make suggestions or send me leads for me to follow up on.
Finally things started to come together. One of the leads she had sent followed up with me. After all my interview experience I knew what to say. I was up front and told them where my position was in the job market and what I wanted. They were fine with my needs and had me come down for an interview. Now I have a Network Administrator position for a trucking company in New Jersey. What I have learned from this whole experience is to never stop from going after what you want because there will always be someone out there willing to give you the chance."

"I began working with computers doing trouble shooting and minor repairs, but always wanted to break into the IT field. I had always felt that no matter how much you learn there is always something new to add to your knowledge.
My biggest fear before enrolling, was feeling that I could not learn all I needed to start my career. I overcame these thoughts as I began classes and teachers believed in me.
I would tell students the same; always believe you can do or achieve anything. If you ever doubt yourself, look to your classmates for inspiration. They are going through the same thing and supporting each other is a huge help.
ComputerTraining.edu has taught me to set goals as well as how to achieve them. I have taken that lesson and applied to my life every single day!"
